Before we close our tastings notes, we thought it might be fun to take a look back at some of our favorite beers of the year. They include big, bold barrel-aged beers, session beers and plenty of pale ales and IPAs. Keep in mind, this isn’t an all-encompassing list of the best beers. Rather, it’s a rundown of the beers we enjoyed most often or the beers that captured our attention.
There are a few beers we would recommend you to drink. First one is Liquid Mounds Bar. We werelucky enough to try this masterpiece at a Northwest Indiana bottle share and we were blown away – it tastes just like it’s named: a liquid Mounds bar, complete with little coconut flakes visible in the glass. There is, however, another favorite, which was somehow lost among other popular beers this fall. It’s called New Glarus Bubbler Hefeweizen. This open fermented beauty gushes with aromatic banana and cloves with subtle lemon-rind effervescence. In the mouth, fresh cracked wheat, banana cream, and tart lemon flavors exhibited a balance and finesse, right up there with the best German Hefe’s around.
These are only some of the most captivating beers we tasted this year, but we are sure you can add something to this list.
Of course, these two are not all the beers we recommend you to taste. Our team will share more from our annual selection in forthcoming posts, and we hope that you will enjoy it.
